Every TopDraw competition includes a genuine free postal entry route. This guide explains how the postal route works, what to put in your envelope and how postal entries are included in the draw alongside paid entries.
What is the free postal entry route?
The free postal entry route lets eligible UK residents enter a TopDraw competition without paying for a ticket. A postal entry has the same chance of winning as a paid entry of the same kind, and it is treated identically once it has been received and processed.
The full instructions, including the current postal address and any per-competition limits, are on the [free postal entry route](/free-entry) page.
Why free postal entry exists
UK prize competitions that involve a payment to enter need a free entry route to be run lawfully and fairly. We treat that requirement as a feature, not a tickbox. The free route is real, the address is real and your entry is processed through the same system as a paid one.
If you would rather not pay to enter a competition, the postal route is the right way to take part.
What to include in your postal entry
The [free postal entry route](/free-entry) page lists everything that must be included on a postal entry, including the competition you want to enter and the personal details we need to confirm eligibility.
Always read that page before posting, because the exact requirements can be updated. We are not able to count incomplete entries.
How postal entries are processed
When a postal entry arrives it is logged in the admin system with a date and time. The team checks that the entry is complete, that you are eligible, and that the relevant competition is still open.
If everything is in order the entry is allocated a ticket number, the same way a paid entry is. If anything is missing the entry is rejected with a reason and you are not entered.
How postal entries are included in draws
Once a competition closes, every accepted entry, paid or postal, goes into the same draw pool. There is no separate postal-only pool. The winning ticket number is selected from the combined pool using the same verifiable random method.
Postal entries that arrive too late or that fail the eligibility checks are excluded. Anything else is treated identically to a paid entry from that point on.
Where to read the full free entry instructions
The current postal address, eligibility rules and per-competition limits are kept on the [free postal entry route](/free-entry) page so the information is always up to date. The [terms and conditions](/terms-and-conditions) cover the legal detail. For day-to-day questions, try the [Help Centre](/faqs).
TopDraw competitions are open to UK residents aged 18 and over.
